Third Coast Clay

Third Coast Clay, located in Houston's Independence Heights, is an artist-run ceramic studio dedicated to building an inclusive community. Founded by master ceramist Lotus and her husband Tino, the studio aims to make ceramics accessible to everyone, fostering a diverse and vibrant clay community. Lotus's vision, inspired by her mentor Huey Beckham, centers on the power of community in the ceramic arts. Third Coast Clay stands out as the largest artist-owned and minority-run ceramic community studio in Southeast Texas.

Third Coast Clay offers a variety of classes and programs to suit all skill levels. These include seven-week sessions, independent practice, 'Touch N Go' pottery wheel sessions, guest artist workshops, and private events. They also provide professional practices workshops and development for Texas K-12 teachers. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced artist, you'll find a class to ignite your creativity. Specific classes include focuses like dish design and creating vessels for plants.
