The ArtRoom

The ArtRoom in Pearland is a creative space led by Mary V. Cooper, a self-taught artist with a degree in Psychology and Graphic Communications from the University of Houston. After years in marketing and as a substitute teacher for Pearland ISD (where she admits to sneaking in art lessons!), Mary started The ArtRoom five years ago from her home studio. Her passion is providing individualized instruction and helping students develop their own personal style, all inspired by her own three artistic children and two feisty Yorkies.

The ArtRoom offers a variety of classes for kids, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media. Students experiment with different materials and techniques, exploring styles from Pop Art to Pointillism. They also offer specialized programs like homeschool art classes for ages 5-14, art camps during school breaks, and an ArtClub. Class sizes are limited to ensure individual attention and a safe, sanitized environment.

More than just a place to learn art, The ArtRoom provides a supportive and inspiring environment where young artists can explore their creativity. It's a space where kids can develop original ideas, learn new skills, and bring home hangable creations they're proud of.
