McCheek's Studio

McCheek's Studio, located in the Houston Heights, was founded in 2010 by Carole Smith of McCheeks Mayhem Ceramics. Carole, originally from Scotland, brings her passion for clay and years of experience to the studio, teaching hand-building techniques to students of all levels. Her journey with ceramics began in her teens and continued through her degree and postgraduate studies in London. She is passionate about sharing the magic of transforming clay into beautiful and functional pieces.

McCheek's Studio offers a variety of clay classes and workshops for both adults and kids. Adults can participate in five or ten-week clay classes, one-night workshops, and team-building events. Kids can enjoy clay birthday parties, one-day classes, pottery badge classes, and summer camps. Classes focus on hand-building techniques, allowing students to create their own projects with guidance and instruction. All materials and kiln firing are included.

Unlike franchise experiences, McCheek's Studio provides a personal and authentic learning environment. Carole's enthusiasm and Scottish accent add a unique touch to the classes. Students can expect a welcoming atmosphere where they can explore their creativity and create unique ceramic pieces.
