About This Studio
HTX Clay, founded by Abbie Edmonson and Jessica Gutierrez, is a ceramic studio born from a desire to create a space where Houstonians of all skill levels can explore clay and connect with fellow artists. Abbie, a ceramic artist and sculptor with a background in fine arts and sculpture, teamed up with Jessica, who transitioned from nursing to pursue her passion for ceramics. Together, they envisioned a modern, inspiring studio offering both on-demand teaching and open studio access. Their goal is to nurture a collaborative and inclusive community centered around the ceramic arts.
HTX Clay offers a variety of options for exploring the world of clay. They provide introductory two-hour wheel throwing and handbuilding experiences, perfect for date nights or group outings. For those seeking a more immersive experience, they offer monthly memberships that grant access to the studio's equipment, on-demand education, and kilns. Lessons are also available to sharpen skills without a membership commitment.
More than just a studio, HTX Clay aims to be a hub for creative expression and community. Located in the Near Northside neighborhood, the studio provides an inspirational working space where artists can connect, learn, and grow. With a commitment to inclusivity and a passion for ceramics, HTX Clay invites you to come find your creative community.
