About This Studio
The Upstairs Gallery has been a cornerstone of the Arlington art scene since 1967, founded by Eleanor Grace Martin and her artist friends. For over 50 years, this gallery has been dedicated to showcasing Arlington area artists and providing unique art experiences. The Upstairs Gallery stands apart with its commitment to fostering local talent and offering a welcoming space for artists and art enthusiasts alike. The gallery is a member of the Fort Worth Art Dealers Association, further solidifying its commitment to the regional art community.
The Upstairs Gallery offers a variety of classes and workshops for adults and children. Adults can explore their creativity through watercolor, oil painting, acrylics, and mixed media classes. Martha Sue Meek continues the traditions of Carolyn Jehring's class, offering creative studio time for artists to work on their own projects with guidance and encouragement. Sam Hopkins leads watercolor classes for both beginners and experienced artists. Kids can participate in art camps and workshops where they can develop their skills in painting, drawing, and mixed media projects.
More than just a studio, The Upstairs Gallery is a community hub where artists and students connect and inspire one another. With its long history and dedication to local artists, it provides a unique and authentic art experience unlike any chain studio. The gallery's intimate setting and focus on individual attention create a welcoming atmosphere for all. Call or stop by to explore your creative side and become part of the Upstairs Gallery's vibrant community.
